La Gautrais

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at La Gautrais. The house was built in 1787. Originally a farmhouse. Recently renovated to a high standard, showing a wealth of character, beautiful stone walls, and oak beams. This large five bedroom house is based only 1 hour from Caen. Situated on a quiet country lane, 1 km from the village of Ronfeugerai. Fler being the nearest largest town 8km away with a regular market on Saturdays.

We have lived in France for eight years and have lived and worked in two other regions of France, we are now providing Bed and Breakfast accommodation in this gorgeous area of the Suisse Normande, as this area has so much to offer for all ages and tastes. We fell in love with the stunning scenery, with plenty of interesting and fun things to do, so we are sure that you will too.

We know and understand that your holiday time is precious, we are happy to go that extra mile to make your stay comfortable and your holiday enjoyable. If you would like an evening meal at our Table d’ Hôte in our large dining room after a long day exploring, or even relaxing at one of a wealth of beaches, or tired after an unforgettable experience at the Velo Rail, we will enjoy cooking for you. This would be a four course meal, with fresh produce and wine, which we are licenced to provide, at a very reasonable price of 25€ per couple. We also provide packed lunches upon request.

We cannot imagine you would not want to explore, but should you wish to have a relaxing day with a glass of wine and a good book, you are most welcome to stay either in the guest lounge or our sunny south facing garden.
