The cyclists are well catered for with the well marked VTT routes for all abilities.
Very close to us is the famous Velo rail a great fun active day out for every one. Also the barrage de Rabodanges where you can have a candelit dinner aboard the Val D’Orne on a mini cruise. This area of France is well known for its horses, watch them race along the beaches, or arrange a day out trekking following one of the many dedicated horse trails. For the more adventurous quad biking trails are also available.
The wonderful views of the area are seen from a great height, from the purpose built viewing centre at Roche d’Oetre. A magnificent building with superb views. Many walks can be taken from here, showing off the rock at its best. Or just sit and have a coffee and enjoy!
Within easy reach is the town of Ferte Mace with its swimming lake, safe for children with lifeguards on hand.
Bagnoles de l’Orne is not far away famous for its health promoting spa’s. A very popular attraction giving a feel good factor. Bagnoles is also very well known for its Antiques and Brocante fair held annually. Miles and miles of stalls to peruse.
We have so many different large towns, and small villages close by to explore including the medieval town of Domfront. Falaise with its dominant castle which was the birth place of William the Conquer. A day trip out could take you to Mont St Michel it’s a little further away but you could possibly take in the cascades at Mortain on the way. It is well worth a visit. Although very busy in the summer as it is such a popular attraction steeped in history. You are rewarded with spectacular views from the cathedral at the top, of the surrounding bay. There are plenty of café’s and restaurants lining the streets with plenty of room to sit for a coffee or a meal. Many with protected outside area’s with views.
